Why You Need a Fireproof Battery Bag
Lithium-ion battery fires produce extreme heat rapidly — a process called thermal runaway, where a failing cell triggers a chain reaction that can reach over 1000°C in seconds. Once ignited, these fires are difficult to extinguish and can spread to the surrounding room within minutes.

The Charge Safe fireproof battery bag uses four independent layers of protection, each serving a distinct role:
- Inner layer — aluminium foil: Reflects radiant heat and provides the first barrier against flame.
- Second layer — fireproof glass fibre cloth: Structural integrity under sustained high temperatures.
- Third layer — fireproof fibre cloth: Absorbs and dissipates heat to slow thermal transfer.
- Outer layer — liquid silicone fabric: Seals the interior and prevents flame and gas from escaping through the lining.
This combination is what gives the bag its resistance rating. It is fire-resistant — meaning it slows and contains a fire event — not indestructible. Always charge in an open, ventilated area away from flammable materials.

How to Use Your Fireproof Battery Bag
For best results and maximum protection:
- Remove your battery from the e-bike before charging.
- Place the battery inside the bag and connect the charger through the charging port hole.
- Leave the bag partially open during charging for ventilation — do not seal it shut while charging.
- Charge in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable materials.
- Never charge a battery that appears damaged, swollen, or has been exposed to water.
- Unplug the charger and remove the battery from the bag once charging is complete.

We purchased this bag for our Stihl mower batteries & charger to charge in. While it's a good bag the mower battery won't fit very well, but better than nothing. Maybe you could make bags for other batteries than just the cycle battery. As well since the Stihl charger cable doesn't detach from the charger the cable hole wasn't large enough to fit the power plug through, some modifications were required so the cable could get through. Maybe make the hole a bit bigger to allow this to happen.
Absolutely fabulous product should be mandatory fir everyone who owns a e-bike & e-scooters with removable lithium batteries.
